Note Printing Australia (NPA) recognises the significance of environmental responsibility as contributing both economically and culturally to good corporate citizenship.
NPA has identified its specific operations with respect to currency, Passport, security printing and associated activities that could have a significant impact on the environment, and has implemented adequate control measures to minimise any impact. NPA's Environmental Management System (EMS) has been developed and implemented to provide a structure in which environmental aspects and impacts are regularly monitored, and appropriate control measures maintained.
NPA's EMS ensures compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
The environmental policy and EMS are documented and available to all staff in electronic form, while the policy alone is available to the public on NPA's website at www.noteprinting.com.au.
NPA is committed to the process of continual improvement. Objectives and targets are established for each financial year, and a detailed plan with specific responsibilities is developed and closely monitored.
The policy, EMS, objectives and targets are reviewed regularly as part of the management review process and, where necessary, corrective actions are implemented.
NPA has appointed a management representative to manage its EMS, and line responsibilities are clearly defined through job descriptions and procedures.
NPA's EMS has the support of its Executive Committee and staff.
