Melbourne – 9 February 2026
Officials from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) Immigration & Passport Services visited Note Printing Australia (NPA) in the first week of February as part of their continuing partnership in relation to secure passport production for the Pacific nation.
NPA has been producing passport booklets for FSM for more than 15 years. This enduring relationship reflects our shared commitment to world‑class travel document security and innovation. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss specifications for the next generation of FSM passports, ensuring the documents continue to meet evolving security standards and international expectations.
The FSM delegation – Mr Apiner Hadley, Chief, Immigration & Passport, and Mr Kurt Erwin, Program Manager, BMS (Border Management System) – met with NPA’s customer and technical teams to discuss requirements for FSM’s next passport series.
The visit coincided with the manufacturing of FSM’s current‑series of passports, allowing delegates to observe NPA’s secure production environment and gain firsthand insight into the printing and binding processes, similar to previous immersive visits.
”In addition to discussing various options that can be utilised for the design of their next series of passports, this visit provided both Apiner and Kurt with an opportunity to learn about key considerations for the FSM DOJ (Department of Justice) in a move to a new passport,” said NPA Head of Export Customers, Nuwan Kalpage.
This engagement strengthens NPA’s longstanding role as a trusted supplier of passport booklets within the Asia‑Pacific region and reflects NPA’s broader expertise in security printing and book assembly capability.
FSM officials were delighted to gain firsthand insight into the printing and binding processes of their current Series 2 passport and discuss specifications for the next generation of FSM passports.
